CSC Baltic will employ 100 more IT specialists through 2015

CSC (NYSE-CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, continues to carry out plans for growth in Lithuania. Through 2015, as a result of the project “Vilnius DC Expansion“ 100 new technology employment positions will be created in CSC Baltic IT Services Center which was opened six years ago, informed BC company’s press service.

The largest increase in new jobs in the Baltic IT Services Center will occur in the areas of existing services – subdivisions of solutions architects, project managers, and sales services. Also, the jobs growth coincides with the CSC’s focus on global strategic initiatives including cloud computing, cloud computing and development and servicing of visualization and mobile software, Big Data management, analysis and decision making and cybersecurity solutions.

 

According to Antanas Uršulis, Managing Director at CSC Baltic, the number of employees in Vilnius office has been growing steadily since the “Vilnius DC Expansion” project was launched in September of 2013.

 

“By implementing project “Vilnius DC Expansion” we contribute to CSC’s global strategy, ensuring effective client acceptance and implementation of the company's solutions in Scandinavia and Central Europe. By the autumn of next year we plan to finish all tasks related to this project and continue to create new work places. This means that from September of 2013 through September of 2015 CSC Baltic will have employed at least 100 new specialists,” says A. Uršulis.

 

The project “Vilnius DC Expansion“ is a direct CSC investment in the development of the company‘s services to clients in Europe. It will ensure the smooth implementation of CSC’s next-generation solutions and active sales and delivery.

 

“Our goal is to help our clients benefit from next-generation IT solutions. CSC Baltic expansion is also important for Lithuanian IT specialists as we give them an opportunity to work with an innovative and leading global IT solutions company. Moreover, CSC is supporting Lithuanian education institutions to prepare IT specialists to enter the workforce,“ says A. Uršulis.

 

In September of 2013 the company opened sales support hub which provides services for all CSC sales organizations in European countries. Currently 20 specialists work in this subdivision. It is planned to expand portfolio of services by including specialists of commercial contracts and related experts from negotiations, marketing and pricing fields.

 

The project “Vilnius DC expansion”, No. VP2-2.1-ŪM-05-V-03-014 is funded by the European Regional Development Fund. It is provided under the 2007-2013 year programme “VP2 Operational Programme for the Economy Growth” – increase of business productivity and development of business environment. More than 4.4 million litas was assigned to the project which lasts from September of 2013 till the end of September of 2015 – 2.2 million litas fund was assigned from EU and the rest is invested by the company itself. Until July 2014 there were employed 35 employees since the project “Vilnius DC expansion” was launched.
