In the final, Selby defeated the 2009 World Champion Mark Allen (Northern Ireland) 4-3.

Allen took the first three frames in the final, but Selby hit back winning the next three. In the final frame, Allen had the first chance and made 33 before missing a tricky red with the rest. Selby stepped in with a cool 63 and sealed victory after Allen failed to get the snooker he needed on the colors.

In the semifinals, Selby beat the world's No. 3 Barry Hawkins (England) 4-0, whereas Allan defeated Anthony McGill (Scotland) 4-3.

Eight former and current world champions participated in the Riga tournament, which was held at "Arena Riga" and was also broadcast by "Eurosport".

One of the main organizers of this major tournament in Riga is a well-known Russian commentator, "Russian voice of snooker" Vladimir Sinitsyn, born in Riga.

The 2014/15 European Tour series comprises six events across the continent, with the top 24 in the final Order or Merit to go through to the Players Championship next March to battle for the £100,000 jackpot. The next event is the Paul Hunter Classic in Germany from August 21 to 24.
