Beer brewery "Aldaris" has maintained a steady turnover in 2013, whereas the company's losses reduced by 33 percent, the company also paid EUR 3 million in compensation to employees last year, informs NOZARE.LV/LETA.

The company's representatives informed the business portal "Nozare.lv" that in 2013, Aldaris turned over EUR 36.3 million, as compared to EUR 36.4 million in 2012. The amount of losses was EUR 2.6 million in 2013, down from EUR 3.9 million in 2012.

Upon changing the company's strategy, which now focuses on exclusive beer production and investments in the brewery, the company's costs increased to EUR 7.7 million. This sum includes social guarantees and support programs for employees in the amount of EUR 3 million.

Aldaris invested EUR 2.6 million into the company's development last year, which is 17 percent more than in the previous year. Financial data indicate that the company's cost-benefit ratio improved in 2013, fixed costs reduced, and the average income per unit sold increased.

According to the company's management report, it was the right decision to change strategy by focusing on "Premium" style beer and reducing the amount of plastic bottle (PET) products.

The report also indicates that product pricing and successful innovation policy will continue to be the main contributing factors to Aldaris development this year.

In 2013, Aldaris was among the top beer breweries in Latvia, with 30 percent of the total beer market.
