Baltika earns a profit in Q2

Estonian fashion and retail trade company Baltika informed the Tallinn stock exchange that the group's second-quarter net profit including discontinued operations was 648,000 euros, which is by 24,000 euros better that in the same period last year, informs LETA.

Baltika’s second-quarter net profit from continuing operations totalled 405,000 euros, while the comparative figure in the prior year was 641,000 euros profit.


In connection with Baltika’s exit from the Ukrainian retail business, which represented a major line of business of the group, the 2014 results of the Ukrainian entity are presented as discontinued operation.

The group’s second-quarter revenue grew by 257,000 euros, amounting to 12.970 million euros.

Wholesale and franchise revenues quarterly increase was 41% and e-store sales growth 18%.

Second quarter retail revenue remained on the same level as prior year amounting to 12.064 million euros. Baltic countries sales grew by 353,000 euros (+4%) and Russia sales decreased by 338,000 euros (-15%).


Half-year result with discontinued operations was a net loss of 1.834 million euros, which includes the loss from allowance for assets in Ukraine of 1.095 million euros. Half-year result of continued operations was a net loss of 505,000 euros.


The company's revenue in the first half of the year from continued operations was 15.141 mln euros versus 24.388 million euros at the same time last year.
