Tobacco products dealer "Philip Morris Latvia" earned EUR 465,966 in profit last year, informs LETA/NOZARE.LV reffering to information provided by "Firmas.lv".

This is 16.3 percent more than in 2012 when the company earned EUR 400,821 in profit. Meanwhile, the company's turnover in 2013 reduced by 1.3 percent - from EUR 95.4 million in 2012, to EUR 94.2 million last year.

"Philip Morris Latvia" management report indicates that in 2013, the amount of turnover was affected by a decline in the fiscal market - 0.4 percent.

In 2013, the company increased its offer for several product lines, as well as continued to be the central logistics office for "Philip Morris" products in Lithuania and Latvia. The company continued operating in the local market by collaborating with "Sanitex", "Maxima Latvia", "Rimi Latvia" and traders' alliance "Aibe".

"Philip Morris Latvia" managers expect that this year will be successful for the company, emphasizing that the most significant impact on the company's performance will be left by the development of the local market and the increasing demand for products of legal origin.

The report indicates that the company plans to distribute its profits of 2013 and 2012 in dividends to shareholders.

"Philip Morris Latvia" was founded on February 25, 2000. The company's share capital is EUR 201,924. It fully belongs to Swiss company "Philip Morris S.A.".
