Ryanair carries 15 mln passengers on Baltic flights

The low-cost airline Ryanair carried its 15-millionth passenger on flights to/from the Baltic States today, the airline informed Nozare.lv, cites LETA.

In less that ten years Ryanair has served one million passengers in Estonia, 7.5 million in Latvia and 6.5 million in Lithuania, reaching the total number of 15 million passengers in the Baltic States.

 

The lucky 15-millionth passenger was Sima Vaskelite, flying to Bremen. Sima was congratulated at the Vilnius Airport, where she received a Ryanair coupon for a flight from Lithuania to a destination of her choice. All the passengers on her flight were treated to cakes.

 

Elina Hakkarainen, Sales and Marketing Executive in the Northern Countries and the Baltic States, said that Ryanair is ready to continue expanding and operating in all three Baltic States.

 

Ryanair entered the Baltic States in 2004, opening flights from Riga International Airport to London and Frankfurt. A year later Ryanair launched flights from Lithuania's Kaunas to London. In 2010 the airline started to provide flights from Estonia, Tallinn. At the moment, Ryanair flies 52 routes from the Baltic cities, carrying 2.3 million passengers annually.

 

To celebrate the 15-millionth passenger, Ryanair announced a special offer on flights from all the Baltic airports to Oslo in August and September, one ticket costs EUR 17. The tickets will be available from Monday midnight, July 21.
