Latvia registers Europe's 11th largest increase in new car registrations in June

In June, new vehicle registrations in Latvia increased by 13.2% – the 11th largest increase in Europe, the latest report from European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) indicates, cites LETA.

1,893 new cars were registered in Estonia, which is 11.4% more than last June, and 12th highest increase in Europe. Also, 1,223 new automobiles were registered in Lithuania – the 14th highest.

 

The report includes data on all EU member states, excluding Malta. The report also presents data on the European Free Trade Association – Switzerland, Norway and Iceland.

 

In June, 1,308 new automobiles were registered in Latvia, compared to1,155 last June.

 

Vehicle registration decreased only in six countries, 24 countries registered an increase.

 

The steepest increase among all the countries included in the report was recorded in Romania – 75.1%, Greece – 41%, Iceland – 26.7%, Sweden – 25.7%, the Czech Republic – 25.5%, and Hungary – 25.3%.

 

The largest vehicle registration decrease was registered in Slovenia – 17.4%, Austria – 7%, the Netherlands – 5.9% and Switzerland – 3.4%.

 

Altogether, 1,230,363 new automobiles were registered in the countries covered by the report, which is 4.3% more than in June 2013.

 

During the first six months, 6,348 new cars were registered in Latvia, which is 20.6% more than in last year's first six months. Latvia shows the ninth highest increase for all countries covered by the report.
