In June 2014, Estonia's national carrier Estonian Air carried 54,905 passengers, an increase of 1.1% while in the same month last year, Estonian Air carried 54,297 passengers, reports LETA.

The company said that in the first six months, Estonian Air carried 259,264 passengers, a decrease of 5.8%. In the same period last year, Estonian Air carried 275,258 passengers.

From January to June 2014, Estonian Air operated 5,261 flights, which is 6.5% less compared to the same period last year. In June, Estonian Air operated 950 flights.

“In the first half of the year, the total number of passengers is slightly behind the results from the previous year. The main reason for that is a smaller number of operated flights compared to last year,” says Indrek Randveer, the CCO of Estonian Air.

“In June we have seen the passenger volume coming back. We had better than expected development on our routes to Stockholm, Moscow, Berlin and Trondheim but on Kiev route the passenger volumes continued to be lower due to the uncertain situation in Ukraine.“

The 15-minute punctuality of Estonian Air flights in the first six months was 94.1%, an increase of 4.6 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The regularity was 99.3%, a decrease 0.3 percentage point compared to the same period last year.

In June the punctuality and regularity were 90.0% and 99.2% respectively. Estonian Air, Estonia’s national carrier, is the biggest operator at Tallinn Airport. The airline flies regular routes to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Oslo, Moscow, Munich, St Petersburg, Kiev, Vilnius and Trondheim.

In addition, from May to September, Estonian Air flies to Nice and Split, and from June to August to Paris and Berlin. From December 2014 to March 2015, Estonian Air will add seasonal flights to Munich.
