Small Latvian ports' cargo turnover rises by 13.3% in H1

A total of 841,700 tons of cargo was handled at the small ports of Latvia in the first six months of 2014, which is 13.3% more than in the respective period of 2013, when they handled 742,600 tons of cargo, the Ministry of Transport informed the business portal Nozare.lv, cites LETA.

The largest amount of cargo turnover – 417,200 tons – was recorded at Skulte Port, which is 14.6% more than in January-June 2013, 364,100 tons.

 

The amount of cargo handled in Mersrags Port increased by 10.6%, reaching 234,700 tons.

 

Meanwhile, Salacgriva Port's cargo turnover totaled 171,700 tons, which is 17.6% more than in the first six months of 2013.

 

From January to June, the amount of cargo handled at Roja Port was 18,100 tons, which is 10.8% less than in the first half of 2013 – 20,300 tons.

 

No cargo has been handled at the Pavilosta Port so far this year.
