Latvia’s rail freight transport increases by 4.7% in H1

Print versionIn the first six months of 2014, the total amount of rail freight increased by 4.7% from the same period in 2013, reaching 30.8 tons, the Ministry of Transport informed the business portal Nozare.lv, cites LETA.

The amount of transit cargo transported by rail and via Latvian ports increased 7.8% in the first six months of 2014, reaching 25.6 million tons.
The total amount of transit cargo increased by 5.4%, reaching 26.6 million tons, while the amount of domestic transit cargo transport decreased by 7.6% to 403,300 tons.
