Passengers’ number at Tallinn Port in June exceeded 1 mln
This is 6.2% more than the number of passengers via the ports of the Port of Tallinn during the same month last year. In comparison with the first six months of last year, the number of passengers in the first half of 2014 has grown by nearly 213,000 individuals.
Tallink transported 52% of passengers using the Port of Tallinn in June, whereas Viking Line transported 22%, Eckerö Line 13% and St Peterline 2%.
“The number of passengers in June this year has been the highest even number, for the first time exceeding the threshold of a million passengers in this month,” said Sirle Arro, the Head of the Marketing and Communications Department at the Port of Tallinn. “In the past, the number of passengers has exceeded a million in July, which is the most popular month of summer vacations for Estonians as well as for people in the close vicinity,” she added.
During the first six months of 2014, the Port of Tallinn has serviced a total of 4.42 million passengers – 5% more than during the same period of last year.
Passenger vessels visited the ports of the Port of Tallinn a total of 2,327 times in six months, 128 of which were cruise vessel visits.
