Air Lituanica's creation was announced on October 2012, and its first flight took off from Vilnius to Brussels on the 29th of June 2013. Last spring, the company increased its flight schedules and offers now 30% more destinations, reported BC the press service of Vilnius City Municipality.

Tallinn, Gothenburg, Brussels, Berlin, Munich, Paris, Prague, Malmo, Billund (during the summer season) and Amsterdam (from August 31st) are served by Air Lituanica.

The 100,000th passenger happened to be Ingrida Gerbutaviciute, head of Dance and Movement Department of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. "I fly with Air Lituanica regularly, because I work between Vilnius and Berlin, so it is very fortunate that there are direct flights to Berlin at convenient times," said Gerbutaviciute, wishing the company to prosper and expand to new destinations.

In a year, the company operated about 2,000 flights for a total of 2.5 million kilometres flown, 6,500 tons of fuel burned and 2,000 tons of luggages carried. The passengers drank about 6,000 cups of coffee and ate 600 kilos of candies. 17 staff members took care of the passengers, 11 pilots operated the airplanes, 4 aircraft technicians ensured the safety of the flights and 7 customer service specialists answered every question of the clients.

For next year, the airline is planning to increase its fleet with new planes and new destinations. Meanwhile, it will carry more than 150,000 passengers and be one of the main carriers operating at Vilnius Airport. Over the next two years, Air Lituanica is seeking to expand to 13-16 routes and carry 500-600 thousands passengers.
