Latvia's exports have increased 2.1% in 4 months

Print versionDuring the first four months of 2014, export volumes from Latvia increased by 2.1% when compared to the same period last year, announced the Economy Ministry.

According to the latest data, the largest growth was registered in wood and wood product, agriculture and food product export groups. The amount of exports to European Union countries increased by 3.5%, to CIS countries – 2%. Export to other countries reduced by 4.5%, informed BC the Latvian Institute.
During the first four months of 2014, import volumes were 2.5% smaller than last year.
The amount of export in April 2014 increased by 0.7%, as compared to April 2013. Growth was largely triggered by an increase in wood and wood product, agriculture and food product exports.
