World's first auto-follow action sports drone "AirDog" has raised more than USD 500,000 (EUR 367,110) on the crowd-funding platform Kickstarter with about 600 backers, the business portal Nozare.lv indicates, cites LETA.

In order for the project to succeed, the required amount was USD 200,000 (EUR 147,780). Helico Aerospace Industries representative Andis Blinds previously said that he had high expectations about the project, and apparently so do the project's supporters.

The developers had said that if the project raised more than USD 200,000, "AirDog" would offer extra features. If donations reached USD 300,000, the company would provide optional colors for the drone, and if USD 500,000 – the possibility to connect a "GoPro" video camera to the drone's lithium polymer battery.

The project was posted on Kickstarter on June 16, with the goal to amass USD 200,000 in 40 days.

Currently, "AirDog" has 589 backers, of which 371 have pre-ordered the drone, but 155 people have shown their support by donating 10 or more dollars to the project.

As reported, "AirDog" is to be manufactured at the Latvian electronics manufacturing company Hanzas elektronika.
