Restored tourist tram cruises Riga's streets

From May 1st to September 29, every Saturday, Sunday and holiday days, a restored tourist tram originally built in 1901 will cruise Riga's streets, LETA was informed by municipal public transportation company Rigas satiksme spokesman Viktors Zakis.

The tram's route will be from Ausekla Street to the Riga suburb of Mezaparks. The tram's route will take tourists through central Riga and pass several landmarks, like, for example, the Riga Zoo, Latvian National Theater building, Latvian National Opera, the Freedom Monument and some others.


Tickets can be purchased from the tram's conductor, and cost EUR 1.5 for adults.


The vintage tram has a total of 18 seats and standing room for ten more persons.
