In comparison with 2012, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services export from Latvia grew by one-fifth in 2013, Signe Balina, president of Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association, informed LETA.

"The ICT sector continues to be one of the most rapidly growing economic branches in Latvia. The amount of exported ICT services confirms it, which last year, in comparison with 2012, grew by 20 percent", Balina pointed out. The total amount of ICT services export totaled more than 280 million euros last year, writes Nozare.lv.

Balina emphasizes that this fact serves as proof that the ICT industry is one of the cornerstones in the development of the economy, which is based on the latest accomplishments in research and innovations.

On April 16, Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association's general meeting was held, in which various important matters were discussed and a report about accomplishments in 2013 was presented.
