Tallink's passenger number increases by 1% in March y-o-y

Estonia’s largest passenger shipping company AS Tallink Grupp told NASDAQ OMX Tallinn that in March 2014, it transported 701,180 passengers, which is nearly a 1% decrease compared to March 2013, informs LETA.

The number of passenger vehicles increased by almost 2% to 77,821 and the number of trucks and trailers increased by almost 18% to 28,422 units in the same comparison.

 

In the first quarter of the 2014 financial year (January-March) AS Tallink Grupp transported 1,905,555 passengers, which is nearly a 1% increase compared to the previous year. The number of passenger vehicles increased by 4% to 215,013 units transported and the number of trucks and trailers increased by almost 15% to 76,791 units in same comparison.

 

The number of passengers on the Finland-Sweden route decreased by 3.3% in March as compared to February last year and 6.1% in the first quarter year-on-year. On the Estonia-Finland route, the March year-on-year growth was 0.9% and first quarter growth 4.5%; on the Estonia-Sweden route the March fall was 0.9% and first quarter growth 1.7%; on the Latvia-Sweden route, the March growth was 0.4% and first quarter growth 3.5%.
