BC, Riga, 02.04.2014.Print version
Notwithstanding a 17% fall in gross profit, mobile communications company Tele2 net profit increased 21% last year from 2012, reports LETA/Nozare.lv, referring to Firmas.lv data.

Tele2 posted EUR 18,518,558 in net profit last year, compared to a profit of EUR 15,256,412 in 2012, says the company's annual report.

The significant difference between the gross and net profit figures is due to a decrease in the depreciation of fixed assets, explained Tele2 Finance Director Arnis Prieditis.

Tele2 also achieved higher profitability last year – 17%, or 4% more than in 2012. The company's turnover decreased 7%, which the company's management attributes to strong competition on the mobile communications market. The company's turnover last year amounted to EUR 110,074,189, down from EUR 118,323,970 in 2012.

The company's management informs that Tele2 continued to modernize its networks last year.

Tele2 had a total of 1,030,858 clients at the end of 2013.

Tele2 is part of the Swedish group Tele2 AB, one of the largest telecommunications companies in Europe that has 37.6 million clients and provides communications, data transmission and Internet services in eleven countries.
