airBaltic recognised on postage stamps

Latvian airline airBaltic has been recognised on postage stamps issued by Latvijas Pasts (Latvian Post) in a limited collection featuring the airline’s state-of-the-art Bombardier fleet, informs BC Janis Vanags.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer at airBaltic, “Our airBaltic ReShape business turnaround has been a success story. One of its cornerstones is airBaltic fleet modernisation programme – and our passengers benefit from it immediately, as they board our brand new, state-of-the-art Bombardier Q400 NextGen turboprops, and soon also our Bombardier CS300 jets. We are delighted that our business is recognised also on postage stamps.”

 

Arnis Salnājs, Chairman of the Board at Latvijas Pasts, “Our philatelic commission decided to create its first-ever series of postage stamps dedicated to aviation considering the major developments in the industry in the region, lead by airBaltic.”

The collection consists of three stamps featuring the Bombardier Q400 Next Gen turboprop and Bombardier CS300, issued in a limited print run of 40 000 copies. The artist Ģirts Grīva is the author of the series.
