Number of incoming items in Lithuania increased by 16% in 2013

According to Lithuania Post‘s estimations, the number of incoming postal items received in Lithuania last year has increased by 16% if compared with 2012, informed BC post’s press service.

„The tendency of recent years shows growing volumes of incoming postal items. Last year, there was an increase in the number of incoming letter-post items and parcels. Such results are mainly determined by rapidly growing e-trade market that is highly developed in other countries“, CEO of Lithuania Post Lina Minderiene said.

 

According to Mrs Minderiene, the most considerable increase can be seen in volumes of incoming letter-post items. To compare with 2012, last year the number of incoming letter-post items has increased by 16%. The number of incoming parcels has increased by 3%.

 

The largest part of items reaches Lithuania from China. The items originating from this country make 27%. Other countries the largest part of items comes from are Poland, Germany, Latvia, Great Britain, and Hong Kong.

 

The list of the most popular countries the items come from has been stable for recent years. Nevertheless, last year Lithuania received items from such countries as Uzbekistan, Fiji, Cuba, Nigeria, Peru, Iran, Ecuador, Qartar, Oman, the Seychelles, Tanzania, Myanmar, Cook Islands.
