Sixt plans to increase number of bicycle rental stalls in Riga

Print versionEuropean car rental and leasing company Sixt plans to increase the number of bicycle rental stalls in Riga this year, the company's head in the Baltics Arnis Jaudzems informed LETA.

Last year, Sixt operated 12 bicycle rental stalls in Riga, but this year the company plans to operated over 20 rental stalls in both Riga and Jurmala.
Speaking about last year's results, Jaudzems pointed out that the company's bicycle rental service was successful.
''The demand for our bicycle rental service shows that Riga residents and guests value the opportunities that getting around on bicycles give them,'' Jaudzems points out.
According to Sixt, 80% of bicycles were rented out by locals, and 20% by foreign tourists last year.
The company also points out that it will offer more affordable prices to locals by offering season passes.
The bicycles will be made available for rental from the beginning of April until the end of August.
