Number of tourists staying at Riga hotels grew by 23% in Q3
The number of nights spent at such establishments rose 32.6%.
18% of foreign guests came from Russia, 13% – Germany, 6% – Estonia and Finland, 5% – Norway, Sweden and Lithuania, 4% – Italy, 3% – Poland and Great Britain.
The steepest increase was registered in the number of tourists from Russia – 48%, followed by Lithuania – 45%, Estonia – 31%, Poland – 29%, Sweden – 28%, France – 22%, Great Britain – 21%, Norway – 11%.
The fact that the number of guests staying at Riga accommodation institutions increased more than 20% and the number of nights spent at such institutions – nearly 33%, indicates that foreign guests choose to stay longer in the city. Riga is becoming more interesting with its new tourist attractions and entertainment opportunities, explains Riga Tourism Development Bureau board member Vita Jermalovica.
