Record amount of passengers used Tallinn Port in June

In June 2013, the ports managed by Estonian state-owned port operator Tallinna Sadam were used by 971,098 passengers, 6.3% more than a year earlier and the biggest amount of passengers serviced in any June so far, LETA/Delfi reports.

Tallink serviced 56%, Viking Line 19%, Eckerö Line 11% and St. Peterline 2% of June passengers of the port operator.

 

12% of the June passengers were cruise passengers.

 

June was also a record month for cruise ship visits – cruise ships stopped in the Tallinn and Saaremaa ports in 90 cases in June.

 

In the first six months of this year, the company has serviced 4.2 million passengers, by 4.3% more than at the same time last year. 82% of the passengers travelled on Tallinn-Helsinki route. Cruise tourists formed 5%, as there were 25% more of them than at the same time last year.

 

Last year, the company's ports serviced 8.8 million passengers and this year expect to service over 9 million.
