Lithuania registers EU's steepest increase in export in January-March

Print versionLatvia's export increased 6% in the first three months of 2013, the third steepest increase across the European Union, the bloc's statistical office Eurostat reports. According to seasonally-unadjusted data, the steepest increase in export was recorded in Lithuania – 17%, followed by Bulgaria – 13%, writes LETA.

The steepest decreases in export were registered in Luxembourg – 23%, Malta – 20%, and Ireland – 10%.
Estonia's export grew 3% in the first three months of 2013.
Latvia's import increased 1% in January-March, the smallest increase in the EU. Denmark's import also grew 1% in January-March.
Lithuania had the largest increase in import – 7%, followed by Bulgaria – 3%, and Estonia – 2%.
The largest decreases in import were recorded in Malta – 23%, and Cyprus – 16%.
