The buses are equipped with a unique dual system – 60% bio-gas, 40% diesel.
"The idea of the dual system was greeted with skepticism at first, but all is different now, with Latvia's largest carrier even testing it on one line for one-and-a-half months," as Arturs Oskalns, Jūrmala – SV board member pointed out.
Oskalns underlined the big plus here: costs for fuel with the dual system are cut 50-60%, and bio-gas is three times less than diesel.
Installation of the system was conducted by EkoHanza, but bio-gas is supplied to the Jurmala bus fleet by GasLiner Latvia.
