Kalev boosts turnover and profit in 2012

Estonian confectionery company AS Kalev increased turnover, market share and profit in 2012, Äripäev.ee/LETA reports.

Kalev's revenue reached 35.2 million euros in 2012, a growth of 22.5% in a year. The net profit of the company was 1.3 million euros, by over two times more than in 2011.

 

The company sold 8,320 tonnes of sweets and other products, 84% in Estonia and 16% in export markets. Chocolate and sugar confectionery products sales amounted to 6,329 tonnes, of which 45% was candy and 30% chocolate bars.

 

Kalev's market share in volumes at the Estonians sweets market amounted to 42.7% (40.5% the year earlier) and market share by turnover to 37.3% (36.7%).

 

AS Kalev is Estonia's biggest and oldest confectionery company that last year had 365 employees.
