Lithuanian building enterprise Hanner has embarked on the second phase of NordWay, a logistics complex project near Saint Petersburg in Russia, Estonian business portal BBN said in a statement, writes LETA.

The company intends to invest 68 million litas into construction of another 40,000 square meters of space that will be added to the original 44,000 square meters.

The first phase cost Hanner 128 million litas; all the area has by now been let out.

The second phase is scheduled for completion by the end of 2013. The logistics complex is located in an industrial zone close to Russia's main transport artery connecting sea-side Saint Petersburg and inland Moscow.

Hanner plans to launch the final third phase of NordWay for 21,000 square meters once half of the second phase is leased out – hopefully by the end of 2014.

Hanner is a successful real estate investor and developer, the leader in Lithuania, the company says on its web-site.

The company has been developing its activity in Latvia, Romania and Ukraine as well.

A significant portfolio of real estate projects represents the success of the company. The estimated value of the portfolio for 2006 – 2008 is around one billion euros.
