Latvian Revenue Service: exports increase by 13.9%, imports by 7.1% in H1

Print versionIn the first six months of 2012, Latvia's exports increased by 13.9% on the first half of 2011, whereas Latvia's imports grew by 7.1%, according to the State Revenue Service's data.

Compared to the first half of 2011, the total value of goods exported from Latvia increased 21% or LVL 186.17 million during the first six months this year, amounting to LVL 950.29 million, whereas total value of imports from countries other than European Union member states increased LVL 117.36 million or 12.9%, reaching LVL 1.03 billion, reports LETA.
In terms of statistical value of Latvia's exports of goods, the bulk of exports went to Russia, Norway and Belarus in the first half-year. The largest part of imported goods was from Russia, Belarus and China.
