4.6% increase in number of guests at Riga accommodation establishments in April

Print versionThis past April, the average occupancy rate of various accommodation establishments in Riga increased 5% to 58.46%, according to a survey carried out by the Riga Tourism Development Bureau (RTDB).
In April 2011, the hotel occupancy rate in Riga was at 55.88%, Nozare.lv was informed by RTDB representative Guna Caune.
The total number of visa applications to Latvia this past April rose 10%, compared to the same month in 2011, reaching 14,653. The Riga Passenger Port Terminal serviced a cruise ship with 1,449 passengers. Tallink passenger numbers on the Latvia-Sweden route grew 1.3%, while the number of repaid cheques doubled, writes LETA.
