A new GEFCO project “Daily Route to Kazakhstan” was launched early in 2012. This new service provides regular deliveries of general cargo from Europe via Lithuania to Kazakhstan and other countries in Central Asia. It is operated by GEFCO’s Baltic, Kazakh and European subsidiary offices.

GEFCO Lithuania is responsible for consolidation of general cargo shipments at the customs warehouse in Vilnius, handling necessary customs procedures and arranging daily shipments to clients in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. The service is designed primarily for international clients with a wide range of products in such sectors as FMCG, electronics, household appliances, industrial equipment, including high-added value cargo and hazardous commodities, etc.

GEFCO Baltic has been operating shipment flows successfully in Central Asia since 2008 due to the strong economic growth of the region and the high rate of trade relations development. That experience proved regular general cargo shipments to be the optimal and most popular logistics solution among the region’s business community. Taking the great logistic potential of Central Asia into account, the demand for this kind of transportation will continue to grow significantly”, told BC Dmitrijs Solovjovs, Financial Director at GEFCO Baltic.

The key advantages of this service are regular departures, broad geographic coverage, and a transparent pricing policy, all of which make it highly competitive. Timely cargo delivery, elimination of delays and real-time shipment tracking along the entire supply chain are guaranteed by the efficiency of the project. This means that the delivery time from Europe to Kazakhstan does not exceed 3 weeks.

General cargo shipments are transported to the GEFCO customs warehouse in Kazakhstan, while full loads are delivered directly to the final recipient.

In keeping with customs requirements, GEFCO Kazakhstan provides terminal handling of goods, processes all customs formalities, and handles local distribution, etc.

Working with colleagues in Russia and Kazakhstan, GEFCO Baltic organizes regular deliveries by road and rail, including the shipment of commercial and passenger vehicles from Europe and the United States to Central Asia, Afghanistan and Mongolia.
