Anglo Baltic News awarded the most ambitious Latvians in Great Britain

On March 17, a special ceremony took place in Mansfield, Great Britain, during which "Anglo Baltic News" (ABN) Media Group Awards were presented to nine most ambitious Latvians in Great Britain in 2011, LETA was informed by ABN representative Aija Stikane.

Beauty school owner Margarita Belska was singled out as the best entrepreneur. Five years ago, she opened Margarita Belska Nail School in London, now recognized as one of the best beauty schools in Great Britain.

 

Businessman Maris Krasovskis was recipient of the award for the best business idea – his transport company Maris K Transport.

 

Laima Brencs was honored as the most ambitious Latvian. She currently works at Citizens Advice Bureau in Spalding and has provided support for thousands of Latvians throughout her career.

 

Ziedonis Barbaks organized various events, including concerts and Ligo! festivities in Boston last year and was deemed the most active Latvian.

 

Latvian football player Kaspars Gorkss, who successfully plays for Reading F.C., was named the best athlete, Martins Bruveris – the best student, the Association of Latvians in Manchester – the best Latvian organization.

 

Dziesma visam paaudzam ("a song for all generations"), organized by the Association of Latvians in Mansfield, was recognized as the best event, "Milda" – the best brand.
