Invest Lithuania opened a new business office in the Silicon Valley, home to many of the world's largest technology corporations, in San Francisco.

When opening the office, Minister of Economy Rimantas Zylius said that San Francisco and the Silicon Valley are unique places connecting universities and science centers. New ideas evolve as well as businesses and companies in the areas of IT, biomedicine, biochemistry and mechanics are formed here, informs LETA/ELTA.

"We want to and have to intellectually and creatively represent ourselves in this market and environment. We feel the need and potential to do that. For this reason, the Lithuanian office was settled in this area. We believe in success of our activities," Zylius said.

The representatives from banks set in San Francisco, such as Wells Fargo and the City National Bank, President of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Steven Falk, Executive Director of the San Francisco Centre for Economic Development Dennis Conaghan, representatives from IT companies' and Californian universities attended the opening of the office.
