On Wednesday, May 25, Riga port will be visited by "Costa Pacifica" – the largest cruise ship ever to arrive at the port, LETA was informed by the Riga City Council spokeswoman Liene Petersone.

"Costa Pacifica", which belongs to an Italian cruise company, will dock in Riga during its Baltic Sea region voyage. Petersone pointed out that it is a unique event in the history of Riga's tourism, since so far the port was only visited by cruise ships with no more than 1,500 passengers on average. "Costa Pacifica", on the other hand, can carry more than 3,000 passengers.

According to information available on the Italian company's homepage, the ship is 35 meters wide, 290 meters long and its passenger capacity reaches 3,700 passengers. "Costa Pacifica" features five restaurants, 13 bars, four pools, four Jacuzzis and a SPA.

The ship will be in port at 8 a.m. and depart at 6 p.m.
