Baltika to expand online sales

BC, Tallinn, 24.11.2020.Print version
The digital strategy of listed Estonian garment seller Baltika Grupp calls for expanding onto various online platforms to establish itself strongly on the markets of the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe, informs LETA/BNS.

The company has started cooperation with Pigu Group of Lithuania and the Czech platform GLAMI.

Sales via online channels at present account for 11.2% of total sales by Baltika Grupp, which is about 6% more than last year, Baltika said in a press release.

From mid-November, products of the Baltika brands Monton, Baltman and Ivo Nikkolo can be found, in addition to the group's own stores and online stores, also in the channels of the Lithuanian online retailer Pigu and the fashion search engine GLAMI.

Roger Puks, head of e-channels at Baltika, said that as a first, they were starting cooperation across the Baltics with Pigu Grupp, meaning that Baltika products will be available at the  Kaup24.ee, Pigu.lt and 220.lv online stores.

Puks described expansion into international online stores as probably the most effective way of entering new markets with one's product range and testing of products.

"For us, Pigu has the highest potential as a place where to make ourselves visible on the Lithuanian market. There, their position as an online department store is strongest," Puks said.

While cooperation with GLAMI will start in the Baltic countries, in the longer run Baltika expects to expand its digital presence also to elsewhere in Eastern Europe.
