Augstsprieguma Tikls to invest more than EUR 50 mln in upgrade in Vidzeme in 2020

State-owned transmission system operator Augstsprieguma Tikls plans to invest more than EUR 50 million in upgrade of power supply in Vidzeme this year, the company's spokeswoman Aija Ikstena reported LETA.
She said that the investments will be made to complete construction of 330 fV line of Estonia-Latvia third interconnection, upgrade of substations, etc.
The largest investments or EUR 42 million will be made in construction of 330kV line from Riga TEC-2 thermal power plant to Kilingi-Nomme in Estonia.
The line stretch in Latvia reaches 176 kilometers, and the total costs of the project are EUR 84 million, including 62 percent as co-funding from the Connecting Europe Facility instrument.
Augstsprieguma Tikls is an independent Latvian state-owned electricity transmission system operator.
