Tallinn Airport to expand passenger terminal's luggage area for EUR 1.5 mln

BC, Vilnius, 28.10.2020.Print version
The state-owned airport company AS Tallinna Lennujaam has announced a second public procurement for finding a contractor to expand Tallinn Airport passenger terminal's luggage area and luggage handling system, the estimated value of the contract is close to 1.5 mln euros, wirtes LETA/BNS.

Tallinn Airport also sought a constructor for said works in August this year; however, the procurement procedure was concluded without a contract at the time.

The objective of the procurement is to increase the throughput capacity of the luggage area and bring the number of sorting errors close to zero with a fully automated system, it appears from the tender documents.

The contracting authority seeks to reconstruct and expand the luggage area and luggage handling system to accommodate the checked luggage of up to six million passengers per year in a way that passenger terminal services, including checked luggage service, should continue throughout the construction process.

The construction will be divided into stages, and discontinuation of the construction works for certain periods of time is possible. The construction and the luggage handling system are procured separately. The constructor is required to cooperate and draw up timetables together with the supplier of the luggage system. The works will be carried out in a security restricted area.

The works must be performed within a period of 14 calendar months of the signing of the contract and the builder must provide a two-year warranty on the works.

The deadline of submissions is before noon on Nov. 16.
