3 Estonian cos shortlisted for European Business Awards for Environment

Estonian businesses Roofit Solar Energy, Estanc and Reverse Resources have been shortlisted for the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE); the winners of the competition are to be announced on Nov. 3, informed LETA/BNS.

Roofit Solar Energy OU is one of the EBAE finalists for the Products and Services Award, spokespeople for the Estonian Ministry of the Environment said. Roofit Solar Energy is an Estonian developer of unique metal roofing material integrated with monocrystalline silicon elements. The innovative solar roof looks like a traditional steel roof and is electrically as powerful as conventional solar panels. in 2018, the company won the investment prize at the Environment Ministry's environmental award for businesses.


Estanc AS has been shortlisted for the EBAE Management Award. The company specializes in the production of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and scrubbers and uses rainwater in its pressure tests, thereby saving altogether one million liters of clean drinking water. Estanc also uses renewable energy.


Reverse Resources has been nominated for the EBAE Developing Country Cooperation Award. The company develops standardized and transparent processes of collection, cleaning, storage and delivery of waste from garment factories to recycling. The company's target group is garment factories, textile recyclers, textile waste traders and market leading global fashion brands. 


Through its systematic cooperation, the company seeks to foster a circular economy in Estona.

"Three Estonian businesses being shortlisted for the European Business Awards for the Environment demonstrates the high level of our environmentally friendly ideas and production practices," Estonian Minister of the Environment Rene Kokk said.
