Lithuania's Acme enters solar energy business

Lithuanian-owned electronic devices distribution group Acme Grupe is entering the alternative energy market, setting up a new company, Acme Solar Group, for solar projects, wirtes LETA/BNS.
Acme Grupe says it plans to invest around 2 million euros in the first year, and the first 0.5 MW power plant should be installed in the first half of next year. Later on, the company plans to increase its capacity by 5 MW every year.
"The minimum plan for next year is at least 5 MW and at least 2 million euros," Sergej Artemiuk, the group's CEO, told.
The first power plants will be built in Lithuania, he said but could specify the location.
The group's consolidation turnover dropped 9% to 416 mln euros last year.
