Unified natural gas transmission and storage operator Conexus Baltic Grid (Conexus) is continuing implementation of two European-scale projects, in which a total of EUR 93.5 mln will be invested by 2025, as Conexus representatives informed LETA.

One project is modernization of Incukalns underground gas storage facility and the other is improving the Latvian-Lithuanian interconnection.

Investments in the two projects, including the European Union's co-financing, will amount to EUR 93.5 mln by 2025. To date, EUR 6.3 mln has been invested in both projects, which is approximately 7% of the total projected investment.

Modernization of Incukalns underground gas storage facility will improve the facility's technical infrastructure and safety of equipment, while upgrading the Latvian-Lithuanian interconnection will increase the throughput of the connection approximately twofold in order to meet regional gas markets' demand.
