In June, retail trade in Lithuania increased by 5.1% y-o-y

Over June, after revoking the COVID-19 quarantine, the turnover of retail trade enterprises in Lithuania increased by 5.6%, of food and beverage service enterprises – 49.7%. Over the year the trade increased by 5.1%.

  • Based on provisional data, in June 2020, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises amounted to EUR 1 billion 56 million at current prices, and against May 2020, seasonally and calendar adjusted, increased by 5.6 per cent at constant prices.



  • Over the month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products, seasonally and calendar adjusted, increased by 0.7 per cent, of those trading in non-food products – 5.5 per cent, of those engaged in retail trade of automotive fuel – 15.2 per cent at constant prices.


  • In June 2020, against June 2019, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises, calendar adjusted, increased by 5.1 per cent at constant prices. The turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 0.7 per cent, of those trading in non-food products – 11.2 per cent, of those engaged in retail trade of automotive fuel – 2.8 per cent at constant prices.


  • In June 2020, the turnover of food and beverage service enterprises (VAT excluded) amounted to EUR 61.5 million at current prices and, against May 2020, seasonally and calendar adjusted, increased by 49.7 per cent at constant prices.



  • In June 2020, against June 2019, calendar adjusted, the turnover of such enterprises decreased by 24.4 per cent at constant prices.

Definitions :

Retail trade — except of motor vehicles and motorcycles.

Turnover — income recognised or received over a reporting period by an economic entity by selling goods and (or) providing services less the amount of the returned goods sale, write-down, discounts. Income that is recognized in the profit (loss) account as a result of other activity as well as income from financial and investment activities is excluded.
