DTC to provide design services for Lithuanian-Latvian gas pipeline's capacity enhancement

BC, Vilnius, 27.07.2020.Print version
Duju Technikos Centras (DTC) will provide design services for the Lithuanian-Latvian gas pipeline capacity enhancement project for almost 177,900 euros, including VAT after Lithuania's gas transmission company Amber Grid and the Vilnius company signed a three-year contract, according to the central public procurement website writes LETA/BNS.

The total value of Lithuania and Latvia's investment into the project will stand at 10.2 mln euros, including Lithuania's share of 4.7 mln euros, and the EU will allocate 4.885 mln euros for the project.

Carried out in 2018, the project's feasibility study and cost-benefit analysis showed that greater capacity will be required to meet the regional gas market demand and ensure security of gas supply after the gas connections between Finland and Estonia, and between Poland and Lithuania will be constructed.

Work to be carried out as part of the project on the Lithuanian side include capacity enhancement of Kiemenai gas metering station and the reconstruction of the gas pipeline at Panevezys compressor station, and the redevelopment of a gas main to increase the maximum working pressure from 40 to 50 bar will be carried out on the Latvian side as part of the project.

The investments will enhance gas connection capacity to 130.47 GWh per day in the Latvian direction (now 67.6 GWh per day) and to 119.5 GWh per day in the Lithuanian direction (now 65.1 GWh per day).
