Estonia to relax restrictions on public events from July 15
While under current restrictions, public indoor events can be attended by up to 500 people, from mid-July the number of attendees will be capped at 1,500, Prime Minister Juri Ratas said at the government's press conference on Thursday.
The maximum number of participants in outdoor events will be raised from 1,000 to 2,000 from July 15.
"The requirements regarding 50-percent occupancy and dispersion must continuously be complied with. The requirement for dispersion does not just concern the area of the event but also entrances and exits, and adherence to the requirement must also be guaranteed near bathrooms," Ratas said.
The state expects organizers of public events also to consult with the Health Board.
"We must take into consideration that the virus is still around," the prime minister said, adding that Estonia's success at curbing the first wave of the coronavirus must be maintained.
