Kazakh businessmen set to build EUR 100 mln lubricant plant in Lithuania

Businessmen from Kazakhstan plan to invest more than 100 million euros in the construction of a lubricant plant in Klaipeda District, Western Lithuania, the daily Vakaru Ekspresas reports on Friday, cites LETA/BNS.

Such investment is planned by Hill Group, a subsidiary of a company operating in Kazakhstan.


According to Valdas Burneika, CEO of Hill Group that was registered in Lithuania back in 2018 and is engaged in wholesale trade in lubricants, the plant would initially create between 130 and 140 jobs and later its workforce could increase to approximately 300 employees.


The new facility would be capable of reprocessing approximately 60,000 tons of used lubricants and extracting about 42,000 tons of base oils that would be used to produce some 80,000 tons of new products, preliminary estimates show.


Used lubricants would be supplied to the facility from the Baltic States and other European Union’s (EU) countries.
