Self Storage from Latvia has invested almost EUR 4 million in development of smart storage units, the company's board member Augusts Iesalnieks reported.

The total floor space for the self-service storage units located at 97a Krasta Street is more than 2,000 square meters. The separate storage units range from 1.5-20 square meters.

"Self-service storage units are quite popular in the world, especially in the US, but smart storage unit operations, based on technologies, is a novelty. Our customers, upon signing the agreement and downloading Self Storage application, will receive a unique access code that can be used to access their storage unit at any time," he said.

The company plans to develop the service also in other locations in Riga and Latvia's largest cities.

Self Storage was registered in 2015, and has a share capital of EUR 3,000. The company belongs to WD-10, and its beneficial owners are Iesalnieks and Aigars Kesenfelds, according to Firmas.lv.
