Natural gas tariffs for Latvian households to decrease 6.7-10.8%
BC, Riga, 10.06.2020.Print version
Starting from July 1, 2020, natural gas tariffs for households will decrease by 6.7-10.8%, Latvijas Gaze natural gas utility's spokeswoman Anastasija Petere reported for LETA.
"Starting from July 1, households will see the lowest tariff of the past 12 years - since October 2008. Natural gas tariffs are reduced, following reduction of the natural gas purchase price in the world," said the company's board chairman Aigars Kalvitis.
The tariffs approved by the Public Utilities Commission provide that natural gas tariffs will drop by 6.7% if the natural gas consumption is up to 250 cubic meters or 5,269 kWh, and by 10.8% if natural gas is used for heating and consumption is 500-25,000 cubic meters or 5,269-263,450 kWh.
Natural gas tariffs for consumers of up to 25,000 cubic meters change twice a year - on January 1 and on July 1.
