Latvia to allow indoor events with up to 100 participants, outdoor events for up to 300 participants after June 10

Starting from June 10, it is planned to allow indoor events with up to 100 participants and outdoor events with up to 300 participants in Latvia, Health Minister Ilze Vinkele (For Development) told cited LETA.
The current restriction provide that up to 25 people may gather for indoor and outdoor event, with an exception for certain sports, educational and culture events.
"These new measures must be combined with responsible actions - hand disinfection and distance," the minister said.
According to the minister, if Covid-19 incidence does not increase and there are no new outbreaks related with the mobility across borders, starting from July, up to 1,000 people will be allowed to gather outdoors, the indoor limit will remain at 100 people, while premises with over 1,000 square meters will be allowed to receive up to 500 people.
The next step - in August - would allow gathering of up to 250 people indoors, while all other restrictions remain as earlier.
The minister called on people to cover their mouths and noses also during events, while it will remain a mandatory requirement in public transport.
The requirement to wear protective masks will also remain in force in social care centers and hospitals, said Vinkele.
The Cabinet of Ministers today discussed possibilities to mitigate certain restrictions after June 9 when the state of emergency in the country ends.
The decision were not yet made, but the ministers agreed on the proposal to allow indoor events with up to 100 participants and outdoor events with up to 300 participants after June 9.
