Bolt regional head in Latvia Karlis Kezberis said that last summer the company saw strong demand for the scooter rental service and that the company will continue to provide the service also this year. Bolt is expected to launch the scooter rental service in Latvia's regions as well. 

Unlocking the scooter and starting the ride will be free of charge. The price will be EUR 0.22 per minute for the first five minutes of the ride  and will change to EUR 0.11 per minute starting from the sixth minute. This summer, Bolt will be launching Segway Ninebot Max scooters in Riga. Their maximum speed will be limited to 25 km/h so they can be used on cycling tracks and sidewalks. 

The areas where users can end their ride will include neighborhoods like downtown Riga, Brasa, Teika, Jugla, Plavnieki, Maskavas suburb, Agenskalns, Tornakalns and Imanta. 

This summer, Bolt plans to provide electric scooter rent in more than 45 cities of the world.

The Estonian-registered ride-sharing platform Bolt was established in 2013.
