Another border control post, Kalviai-Meitene, will be opened on the Lithuanian-Latvian border on Monday, Lithuania's Ministry of the Interior announced

"Movement flows are growing after travel restrictions were relaxed, therefore, it's worthwhile to open another border points to avoid queues," Interior Minister Rita Tamasuniene said.

Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia allow their citizens to move freely among the three states as of last Friday. People will not be required to provide the reason for their travel and will not be required to self-isolate for 14 days, if they did not come from other countries.

Earlier, decisions were made to open another two border control points on the Latvian border, including Butinge-Rucava and Smelyne-Medumi but people can only return via Salociai-Grenctale.

Truck drivers carrying international commercial cargoes can cross the Lithuanian border via the following border points: Kalvarija-Budzisko, Lazdijai-Ogrodniki, Salociai-Grenstale, Butine-Rucava, Smelyne-Medumi, Medininkai-Kamenyj Log, Salcininkai-Benekainys, Raigardas-Privalka, Kybartai-Chernyshevskoyje and Panemune-Sovetsk.

Internal border control in Lithuania has been extended until May 31.
