This year's seventh tanker with oil for Belarus, this time from Saudi Arabia, is expected to arrive in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda later this week, reports LETA/BNS.

It's the first oil cargo for Belarus from Saudi Aramco.

"Preliminary, some 87,000 tons of crude oil should be brought to the oil terminal in Klaipeda on May 10-12," Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of the oil terminal in Lithuania, told BNS.

Based on data from the vessel tracking websites marinetraffic.com and myshiptracking, the Ionic Astrapi tanker has already entered the Baltic Sea and is arriving from Sidi Kerir Terminal in Egypt.

Alexander Tischenko, spokesman for Belarusian state oil and petrochemicals concern Belneftekhim, did not rule out earlier that new deals with Saudi Aramco could be signed in the future, "depending on the pricing environment and the situation on the market".

The last tanker brought 86,000 tons of oil for Belarus to Klaipeda from Norway on April 13.

In March, four oil cargoes of 75,000-85,000 tons each were delivered for Belarus to Klaipeda from Russia: one from Ust Luga and three from Primorsk. That followed the delivery of around 80,000 tons of Norwegian oil for Belarus by the Breiviken tanker in January.

Belarus had earlier imported crude oil via Lithuania in 2017.
