BC, Riga, 22.01.2020.Print version
AmberBirch veneer manufacturer has started selling its products in South East Asia and will soon start shipping products also to clients in European countries, LETA was told at the company.

AmberBirch representatives indicated that the company makes high-quality technical veneer at its plant, as well as manufactures highly marketable products from production waste.

"The plant has successfully completed a series of tests and work in under way in three shifts. Although in the beginning we were concerned a bit labor shortages, there is currently no shortage of employees. We are especially glad that every third member of staff has re-emigrated from abroad," said AmberBirch board member Karlis Kavass, adding that employees have returned to Latvia from countries like Ireland, Norway, the UK, Ukraine and Lithuania.

In Kavass' words, the AmberBirch plant has taken another step further and gives priority to local and regional suppliers of raw materials, goods and services.

AmberBirch launched its new plant in the eastern Latvian town of Krustpils on November 20, 2019, investing more than EUR 10 mln in the project. The veneer plant is only the first stage of the project, which also envisages building a modern plywood plant for EUR 55 to 60 mln to ensure a full production cycle. AmberBirch plans to employ up to 250 people at its plants in the Krustpils region.

AmberBirch, registered in 2016, is part of AmberStone Group, established in 2013.
